In an interview shared by CIO Insider India, Chandrika Krishnamurthy Tandon spoke about India’s accelerating commitment to artificial intelligence, pointing to the upcoming India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi (February 16–20) as a major signal to the world. She praised the government’s push to apply AI in ways that benefit society, and emphasized that the summit’s mix of policymakers, industry leaders, and academics can spark collaborations both inside and outside the formal sessions.
Tandon also highlighted a major education initiative connected to this momentum: she and her husband, Ranjan Tandon, recently signed an MoU with IIM Ahmedabad to establish the Krishnamurthy Tandon School of Artificial Intelligence, supported by a ₹100 crore donation. She framed the new school as a meaningful milestone for India, with learning from India’s work in translational AI carrying relevance for the broader global community.
